Not Feeling The Love

3 October 2002

Earlier I sent out an all department email, letting my co-workers know I’d be taking some time off.
—————————————-
I will be recuperating from [insert project name here] madness by taking a little break. The week of October 21st - 25th. Miss me :-)

One sassypants co-worker replied, to all.
—————————————-
I will be recuperating from Sharyn from October 21-25. Please let me know if you need anything.

Gee thanks. Now I *really* need that vacation.

Unfocused And Fuzzy

2 October 2002

Weird. My attention span is ridiculously short today. I’m antsy. I’ve got butterflies. Of the kind that generally come with anticipation. But I’m not anxiously awaiting anything. Well, nothing I can think of…aside from next week’s installment of Buffy. It must be the unanticipated free time, combined with caffeine. It shouldn’t have been entirely unanticipated. I knew the project would be more or less complete as of October 1st. But I was so wrapped up in it, pulling so many non-stop long days at work, that I didn’t stop to think what would come after. Sort of like all those people who prepared so manically for the Y2k non-event. Heh. And thus far I haven’t been assigned to the next big thing. So I’ve got a little down time to hone my skills. To tinker with what I learned last week. Should probably get on with that. Instead of finding other distractions and places to make more of my money disappear.

Bellus Animus

1 October 2002

As the little man spent last weekend with the grandparents, we didn’t clock enough cuddling time. So the plan for the week is to focus on him, even if he is in cranky little mofo mode. Hopefully that will pass. Quickly. So…painful as it was, I missed out on meeting the man, the myth, Bruce Campbell. He was just a few miles from my house Monday night, speaking and signing at a local book store. Just for kicks I drove past it in on the way home from the co-op (where the little man had kicked me in the gut repeatedly while I struggled to coerce him into the grocery cart seat). Didn’t spot BC, but I did see several fans about, wearing Evil Dead shirts and/or carrying “If Chins Could Kill“. Sigh. Also skipping the Low in-store at Let it Be tonight, but I did just see them on Saturday…and I’m sure they’ll have a fine turnout. Me, I’ll be hanging with the little man. Especially pre- and post-Buffy, of course.

Happy 10,000

Congratulations to the marvelous mirror project! All hail Queen Heather! I would have loved to have been there for the group photo, as everyone was invited (I think I’ve mentioned this before, but I am growing more senile with each passing day). But I had bigger plans that day. And am of limited funds besides. Instead I made a few new submissions of my own.
