It’s Been So Long I Forgot I Was Waiting

It’s been YEEEEEEEEARS since I’ve been able to listen to my vinyl collection (mostly old school hardcore punk and post-punk stuff). But now, it’s amazing, we have a functioning turntable in the house! It’s like magic. I think it’s time to bust out some old Samiam.

In less magical news, the hills are alive…and they are trying to kill us. I feel like I make this post annually. Spring is a beautiful time of year, of this there is no doubt. We all love it when the weather warms up and the trees and plants start sprouting their greenery. But the pollen, it burns. And oh, the poor little man, his allergies are totally out of control. Worse than ever before. In the last 24 hours I’ve given him Claritin, Sudafed and Ibuprofen but none of it seems to be helping much. His eyes are still red and watery and his nose is running like a faucet. I feel like I should move the boy into a bubble for a couple of weeks, until the pollen settles down. And I’m feeling guilty because my symptoms aren’t as severe as his. I’ve got Zyrtec leftover from hay fever season, and it helps, but I’d forgotten what it does to me. It’s all about the dry mouth and drowsiness. Two days in a row now I haven’t been able to get myself out of bed until after 9am (which is supa late for me). But at least I can breathe through my nose. Exciting stuff, I know. Sigh.

one turntable and, umm, no microphone
