Burn Hollywood Burn

Things that have managed to make me smile, part two:
The little man persists in miscalling his maracas “Morocco”.
Allison Woo’s weblog (and not just because she’s similarly LoTR-obsessed): “all i have to say, is that elvis stojko is one of my least favourite skaters. he’s just so.. not elegant. what makes it even worse, is that he’s skating to CREED…in a black tank top.”
James wrote to tell me of how his friend mishears a line from Elton John’s Tiny Dancer as “Hold Me Closer, Tony Danza”. This alternate version will forever be overdubbed in my memory.
The Flavor Flav talking alarm clock.
The trailer for Anna & the Moods, an animated short with Bjork and Terry Jones.
My friend Dave and I stopped by Cinema Revolution, a promising looking indie video store. After checking out the sparsely stocked store Dave commented that he’s probably got more DVDs at home. I think he’s right.
Bruce Campbell as The King and Ossie Davis as JFK. More on that later.
Perplexing but funny. The husband was amused (in a “serves you right” kind of way) by what happened to me on the way home this evening. I stopped to take a photo of an especially elaborate and gaudy display of christmas lights (those giant inflatable snowmen seem particularly popular this year). I pulled up in front of a house, on a street lined with other parked cars. Just as my camera was good to go, the lights went out. Guess they saw me coming.
And lastly, just before all the bad news, the little man and I visited an indoor playground we’d never been to before. I have to admit, the suburbs are good for something after all. Lookout Ridge is a pretty cool place.
