Don’t Get It Right, Get It Written

It’s been an unexpectedly beautiful day. Sunny and warm, with a healthy mix of productivity and r&r. Today I:

  • got a fair amount of writing in at the coffee shop in the morning;
  • realized just how punk rock the husband is. He who wears his clothing until it is literally falling apart (photo exhibit a);
  • had my lunch plans foiled. Evergreen is now closed all day every Tuesday. We went to Kinh Do instead, which is decent enough, but not nearly as good and not what we were in the mood for (photo exhibit b);
  • foiled my own photographic plans by failing to recharge my camera batteries before leaving the house. There were at least two lovely shots I could have gotten in the Kinh Do parking lot, with great sunlight, had my camera been operational;
  • went to stock up on some basics at United Noodles and wound up purchasing additional Udon noodles, solely because of the nicely done packaging (photo exhibit c);
  • found myself thinking there should be four of me, at least for the remainder of this month. One to hang out with the little man, one to clean our filthy hovel, one to work on client projects, and lastly, one to focus on writing my novel;
  • saw this Sumo Wrestler garden statue and was at a loss for words;
  • laughed out loud at the little man. Caught him playing with the power window button. His Batman hat seeming to be in imminent danger of being tossed out so I pushed my own button, effectively locking all of the power windows. When he complained, telling me he wanted to open his window, I said, somewhat jokingly, “no, my dear, only your mother has the power.” After a moment he replied, “but I want the power!” It was very cute. Maybe you had to be there.
